Santa Pola - Alicante, Spain
Santa Pola is a beautiful fishing town, situated just 10km from El Altet de Alicante airport, Spain. Bordered by the Mediterranean, with 11km of fine sandy beaches, and a beautiful bay, the town hides a treasure trove of nature.
With more than 300 days of sunshine, and very pleasant temperatures, our beaches and streets attract tourists from all over Europe.
What is there to do? Everything that springs to your imagination… Take a stroll in the Salt Pads Natural Park, contemplating the flamingos and the fantastic sunsets, take a look around the museums, and the town’s historical monuments (the Aquarium, the Museum of fishing, the 17th century Castle, the Watch Towers, the Iberian and Roman archaeological remains…), enjoy exquisite Mediterranean seafood cuisine, or quite simply, enjoy our fiestas (from the 1st to the 8th of September), the people, the streets, the shops…
What’s more, for sport’s fans Santa Pola holds an array of choices: kite-surfing, sailing, parapenting, windsurfing, etc. A must since 1990 is the Santa Pola Half-Marathon, when, every January, 6000 athletes come together, and this commitment to sport has lead other events to develop, like the Pepe Bonet Memorial Biathlon, the Santa Pola to Tabarca Ocean Swim and the World Windsurfing Championship.
One surprise that the town can offer travellers is the Island of Tabarca, a marine paradise with crystal clear waters, just 3 miles off the coast of Santa Pola, inhabited by descendants from Genoa and Sardinia.
Marine traditions, fine sandy beaches, a Mediterranean climate and natural resources all await our tourists.
