New Scotland is located in the Atlantic coast of Canada and t is the second smallest province of the country. However, it is bigger that Denmark and just a little bit smaller that Scotland. The name new Scotland makes reference to the Scottish settlers that first came to this territory in the XVII century. The Celtic heritage can be seen in cities such as Cape Breton, which is worldwide famous for its Celtic music. This is a racial tolerant region is covered by woods and big spaces. Many tourist come to New Scotland every year and usually, they go hiking, surfing, ect. Halifax, the capital city, is prepared for all kinds of tourist from backpacker to important business men. A place you should not miss is the Annapolis Valley, where you will see lots of beautiful Victorian houses. Fish and seafood are essential in New Scotland’s gastronomy. Halifax also has many discotheques, bars and restaurants which are reputed to be the best of the all the country. An interesting detail is that Scottish and Irish music can be heard all over the province. Some of the most important annual events of the region are the winter carnival celebrated in February, the Highland Games y and the Scottish festival celebrated in July and the antiquity fair in October.
