Indonesia is an archipelago that covers 17.000 islands approximately, which offers a vast variety of fauna, flora, and culture. One of the most thrilling island is Bali, which is widely well-known for its temples, towns with admirable culture, beaches delineated by palms, hillsides covered by rice crops, impressive volcanoes, crystal clear springs, tropical rainforest and above all the native’s kindness and cheerfulness. Other important islands are Java and Lombok. Java is the geographic, economic, political centre of the archipelago, where the Hindu and Buddhist empires left impressive architectonic works such as Borobudur and Prambanan. Lombok has beautiful beaches and peaceful landscapes. The town keeps alive many of their traditions clearly demonstrated in their dances and ritual fights. A curious Indonesian attraction is the shadows theatre, which is the habitual way of entertainment. There is a dynamic nightlife especially at hotels; however, there are many karaoke and pubs where people can spend a good time. As in every hot country, the Indonesian streets have a wide variety of activities and colourful street mobile shops. In Jakarta, the capital city, there are lots of accidental style bars, clubs and discotheques. Among the most important festivals it ca be mentioned the Balinés de Galungan in which the gods join in the parties with ordinary people and the important Holy Week procession of Larantuka. Another festivity is the Trojans funeral services, which are celebrated in Sulawesi.
