Formentera forms part of the Balearic archipelago. Together with Ibiza and various other islets, it makes up the Pitiusas islands. Formentera is the smallest inhabited island of the Balearics. It is situated to the south of Ibiza separated by a channel of 3.6km. As it does not have an airport, the only means of access, it is by boat. It is known for its fine sandy beaches and clear waters. It offers many different landscapes that can be appreciated from both land and by its clear seas with colourful depths that make it ideal for scuba diving. The spirit of it people and the force of nature make Fomenter a refuge and fountain of inspiration for its multitude of artists and artisans.
