Peking known as Beijing in Chinese is the capital city of the Republic of China. The city has more than 2000 years of culture and history that was kept far from occidental influences. For its antiquity and its colossal and monumental palaces, Peking is acknowledged as the cultural and sociopolitical centre of China. Furthermore, you should visit the subterranean city of Beijing built during the 60s to protect themselves from Russian possible attacks and the Lamas temple in which there is a huge Buda carved in wood. However, there other places of great interest in Peking that respond to modern and occidental tendencies. In this city, you will find skyscraper and modern motorways that contrast with the antique structures and their communist past. Surely, Peking is a place that will surprise you.
