The name Amarillo, which is the Spanish Language translation of yellow, was based on the color of the soil of the lake Amarillo. One of the most important attractions of this region is the Palo Duro Canyon State Park which is one of the biggest parks of the United States. In this awesome park, visitors can do extreme sports like mountain biking, camping, and do horse riding like authentic cowboys would do. One curious place that every tourist should visit is The Cadillac Ranch. In the Ranch, there are 10 Cadillacs buried imitating the Cheops Pyramid inclination. These cars were placed there to pay tribute to the best American automobile. Another place of great interest is the Space Theater has the most advanced technology and a digital planetarium. Moreover, Amarillo has many museums such as the Handle-Plains which is the biggest history museum in Texas. Another interesting museum is the Quarter Horse museum where you can find the history and the evolution of the Quarter Horse race.
