Turks and Caicos Islands

Turks and Caicos islands

Among all the islands of the impressive Caribbean, Turks & Caicos will surely be one of the most captivating places that you have ever seen. Located to the east of the Bahamas, they’re a little known destination by the tourists, reason why you will be easily surprised by the authenticity of their corners. A good inducement for everyone who wants to enjoy peace and tranquillity in the middle of the extensive wilderness that these islands offer. And you’ll have plenty of choices, because this Caribbean archipelago is formed by 40 tiny islands that occupy 166 square miles of territory. The main ones are eight: West Caicos, Providenciales, North Caicos, Grand Caicos, East and South Caicos, Grand Turk and Salt Cay. Most of their inhabitants, little more than nineteen thousand are concentrated in the Providenciales and the island of Grand Turk.

Needless to say these islands offer the best thing of Atlantic waters. Located in a privileged enclave, they have one of the greatest coral reefs of the world, another reason why diving into their waters will be an exciting visual experience. On the surface, 150 miles of white fine sand beaches where, if you wish, you will practically forget about the rest of the world. The large hotel resorts begin to settle so, a good option, can also be to rent a bicycle and let yourself go with the flow... The islands don’t have a pronounced relief and are full of natural lakes and parks. The bird sanctuary of the French Cay or the Columbus Landfall National Park are  clear examples of it. Although perhaps the eager ones would prefer to venture themselves and visit the Caicos Conch Farm, a place worthy to be seen on this land of legendary hospitality.
But, if what you prefer is a customized attention without having to worry about anything, the best thing is to choose some of their extraordinary resorts. In this sense, the island of Provo is more a tourist center than a proper town. With a great variety of hotels, a golf course and all the services related to the quality tourism. All concentrated in the magnificent beach of Grace Bay. Without having to move yourself to the chosen area, you will be able to arrange excursions by boat, to go out for a drink or to spend an amused shopping day.

The capital of the archipelago is located on the island of Grand Turk. A small colorful city surrounded by salt mines with whitewashed houses or wood-painted with colors recreating the true nature of the place. Don’t get surprised if, in the middle of the way, you find a wild ass resting in the shade of a stone wall. The gastronomy is not the strongpoint of Turk & Caicos. In short: fried dishes, Mexican cuisine, hamburgers and pizzas. But if you have appetite for seafood, you will find good lobsters and a great variety of molluscs and abundant fish.

Cheer up and dive deep into the heart of a dream trip.
