United Republic of Tanzania

Tanzanian Safari

Located at the Eastern coast of Central Africa, Tanzania is an exciting place, mainly for wild and pure nature lovers. The country is half continental and half insular and composed by the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba, located in the Indian Ocean. Taking advantage of its average annual temperature (approx. 24 degrees centigrade), to visit the sandy coast full of corals will also be an interesting experience. In the interior, a large plain extends rising towards the west up to the fault of the Rift Valley, where the lakes Malawi, Rukwa and Tanganica are situated. In the northwest, the impressive vision of the highest mount of the country and all the African continent: the Kilimanjaro, with its 5,895 meters of altitude.
The United Republic of Tanzania is a country for adventurers, so be ready to get amazed by the excursions through the savannah, the forests and the rough desert. In no other side of the world it's possible to find as many gnus, gazelles, zebras and antelopes as in this country. The endless plains facilitate the observation of these animals. Tanzania is mainly well-known for its abundant fauna and typical flora. More than a quarter of the territory is a protected forest, a national park or a hunting preserve. Places where you'll be able to admire, calmly, the large populations of elephants, buffalos, crocodiles or hippos that live together in the country.
With a surface of almost 15 thousand square kilometers, the Serengeti is one of the most renowned national parks of Tanzania. It stands out, above all, for being the sanctuary of the great felines. In the Seronera Valley, you'll be able to carry out tracking operations of leopards, lions and cheetahs. You'll be at the heart of the best natural space for the observation of the Tanzanian fauna in its maximum splendor. Twice a year, a great deal of herbivores cross through that way, before and after the dry season, carrying out the great migrations. Without a doubt, an experience that you cannot miss.
The route along the Grumeti River corridor will be another of the exciting excursions that you cannot miss. A good chance to see the largest crocodiles of Africa. For the ones who don't want to waste a single moment, there exists the possibility to camp at the heart of  a natural park. What a pleasure sleeping out in the open under a mantle of stars! In the Ngorongoro Valley, you'll have the chance to contemplate the last black rhinos and to carry out the exploration of the crater of the volcano which gives name to this fascinating place. An incursion that you'll be able to arrange on safari by the riverside forests of the Lake Eyasi with the luck, who knows, of finding the last member of the bushman tribe of the Hadzabee. An experience that won't leave you impassible.
Dodoma, in the interior, is the capital of Tanzania, but Dar er Saalam is the inhabited town. It's a coastal locality where almost all the commercial activity of the country is carried out. Its fine sand beaches and large palm groves are an idyllic place to the eyes of the most demanding sun and beach tourists. If you visit the capital don't forget to taste the wine. Although it seems unbelievable, is one of the most important attractions in this part of the country. The gastronomy has clearly islamic ingredients, meats dressed with spicy sauces, although you'll also find fresh quality fish at the coastal areas. But don't forget that Tanzania is much more than going on safari. Otherwise, venture yourself onto a sporting flight over the Serengueti or enjoy a trekking day, more than 24 hours without direct contact with the civilization. There isn't anything more purifying, is it?
