South Africa's World Cup.


The greatest sport international event in the world will take place in South Africa from June 11th to July 11th 2010.  Every four years, 46 soccer matches are played by more than 30 countries in order to take home the world cup. International tourism experts affirm the event will foster massively international tourism in the country. South Africa is seriously taking the World Cup as an opportunity to boost international tourism not only for this special event but also for the years to come.
Currently South Africa has a negative image in the world for its political conflicts, wars, hunger, and disease, plus de low quality means of transportations within the country. In order to change this situation, South Africa will invest almost 16 billion dollars in transport facilities, which include improvements to the airports, and roads and the creation of new rail and bus systems. These improvements will turn South Africa into a more attractive destination for tourists.
The games will be hosted at 10 different stadiums across nine South African cities: Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Johannesburg, Durban, Polokwane, Bloemfontein, Nelspruit and Rustenburg. Each city will surprise visitors with their richness.
Cape Town, considered as the jewel of South Africa, is famous for its natural richness and beautiful white-sanded beaches. The city offers all sorts of attractions such as historical buildings, museums, seafront walkways, boat trips, restaurants, craft markets, shops and boutiques, and Two Ocean Aquariums.

Port Elizabeth, situated on South Africa’s southeastern coastline, is well known for its beautiful beaches, the Kouga-Tsitsikamma-Garden Route and the Karoo Heartland Route.
Pretoria, the official capital city of South Africa, has much to offer for visitors, such as, museums, nature reserves, art galleries and a vibrant nightlife.
Johannesburg is South Africa’s financial, industrial and cultural capital. It is an attractive destination to visit for its culture and spare time services.
Durbanhas amazing, long, sanded beaches with turquoise, crystal clear water, lavish gardens, and all sorts of shops, restaurants, nightclubs, hotels will satisfy every visitor. In this city, there is also the largest marine park in Africa.
Polokwane located in the Limpopo Province will captivate tourist with its nature reserves.
Bloemfontein has an astonishing botanical garden, which contains a wide range of Karoo plants, more than 100 species of birds and 54 reptile species.
Nelspruit is a subtropical town, which grows a third of South Africa’s citrus fruits. A fantastic attraction of this town is the Sudwala Caves.
Twenty million of tourists are expected during the 2010 World Cup. The international public event will have a positive effect on the country because it will promote South Africa’s its new modern infrastructure, and a new image before the world. What is more, the event will inject $21.3 billion into the South African economy.
