Expo Shanghai China 2010

Having better life conditions is nowadays, a matter that concerns the entire world. Considering the fact that fifty-five percent of the world population will be living in cities by the year 2010, The Expo Shanghai China 2010 will focus on improving future urban life and promoting world tolerance and peace. This event, which will last from May 1st till October the 31st, will be an excellent opportunity to explore the full potential in the 21st century metropolitan life. As it is the first world exposition to develop the theme of “City”, it is expected to attract around 200 participant countries and 70 million visitors from China and the rest of the world. In addition, Expo 2010 Shanghai China will offer a wonderful opportunity for cross-culture dialogues in a colossal, imperial pavilion that will cover a total area of 5.28 square kilometers, including the enclosed areas and outside areas. The Expo Shanghai 2010 will carry out lots of events and forums to approach the matter and to make the exposition splendid and unforgettable.

Expo 2010 will draw the outline for the cities of the future, besides, pleasant urban life conditions involving housing, work conditions and education, will be emphasized, providing an astonishing didactic and enjoyable stands for visitors of all nations. During the exposition, it will be developed the importance of the diverse cultures in the cities and the interaction between urban and rural areas. Economic prosperity, innovation of science and technology, and remodeling the community care in the cities are some other essential themes dominating the exposition. The previously mentioned themes lead to the central theme of the exposition, “Better City, Better Life”, which represents the common wish of the whole humankind for better living in future urban environments.

There will be two different types of events, the events during the preparation for the Expo and the events during the whole Expo duration. Events during the preparation for the Expo include anniversaries on April 30t, 1000-day, 800-day, and 500day countdown, etc. These activities are organized mainly by the Organizer. Events during the whole Expo duration may be classified into three main categories. Firstly, those organized by the Organizer, including the opening and closing ceremonies. Secondly, those organized by the participants, international organizations and corporations, and autonomous regions and municipalities. Finally, the events organized by other parties, such as media groups, companies specialized in design, advertising companies, etc.

The forums can also be classified into three main categories, summit forums, theme forums and public forums. Summit forums will host heads of government, international celebrities important business people and the like. Theme forums are going to be more technical and instructive and will be held at least once a month during the Expo Shanghai China. Public forums will be special forums intended to improve the contribution and understanding of the public. These forums will be held for a hundred times before and during the Expo.

“World Expositions are galleries of human inspirations and thoughts”. Having a long and well developed civilization, China has always been in favor of world peace. One way in which peace can be achieved is by improving people’s urban life style because, as it has been mentioned before, more that the half of the population will be living in the cities in less than two years time. Expo Shanghai China 2010 will explore new approaches to human habitat, lifestyle and working conditions in the new century. The Expo pretends encouraging the participation of the nations involved and gaining the understanding and support of various countries, in order to turn Expo 2010 Shanghai China into a happy and successful encounter.
